Over this term of Council, I’ve fought against wasteful spending. The 1635 homeless shelter was purchased by the Region for $13.7 million, when six months earlier, in a depressed housing market, a developer paid $8 million. I will always question staff and act as your government watchdog.
- Implement a red tape reduction strategy to ensure greater government efficiency and higher productivity
- Advance the implementation of the Region’s Auditor General’s Office to ensure that public funds are used appropriately and waste is mitigated
- Ensure that procurement policies respect tax dollars and produce quality services
- Fight against high tax increases

The Trump tariffs have had a detrimental impact on our businesses and industries. We need to protect the investments we have made in the last four years and accelerate new ones. My economic development plan will:
- Create an East Ward Business Council to work with the Town and Region’s Economic Development departments so that local small businesses thrive
- Work with the Provincial Government to open the 412 and 407 industrial lands, so new businesses can build, hire, and grow
- Introduce incentives for established businesses that expand their facilities and workforce

Keeping Our Community Safe and Secure
Over the last few years, I’ve heard horrifying stories of car thefts and home invasions. People do not feel as safe as they once did, and police officers are often burning out due to the capture of violent repeat offenders. My community safety plan will:
- Create an East Whitby Traffic Committee, so that residents can express their concerns and ensure that proper traffic calming measures are implemented
- Advance the new EMS station in South Whitby (projected opening in 2028)
- Advocate to the Federal and Provincial Governments for meaningful bail reform
- Ensure that all emergency services have the resources they need to keep us safe
Building Stronger Neighbourhoods
Keeping Our Community Safe and Secure
People in our community love their neighbourhoods and Whitby. However, one main concern is that while taxes increase, services do not. Moving Whitby Forward means building and maintaining the services you rely on without breaking the bank. Together, we will:
- Work with the Provincial Government in a constructive way to advance our new hospital
- Build a new dog park in East Whitby
- Expand our multi-use paths to ensure greater connectivity
- Engage residents when parks are being revitalized to ensure that families have a quality park in their community
Moving Whitby
People rely on transit every day to get to work, school and around the Region. We need to do more to ensure transit is effective and efficient:
- Improve route alignment so that bus routes will be designed to be as direct as possible
- Improve specialized transit services, so that people with disabilities and seniors have transit options that meet their needs
- Ensuring that the Alto High Speed Rail project does not have a detrimental impact on Whitby neighbourhoods
